Katie is a scammer.  I have had a million and one emails promising receipts and recorded delivery references but please be in no doubt this person is 100% fake, untrustworthy, devious and thoroughly unpleasant.  Do not touch.  Can someone from Scarlet Mist now please advise the correct process to follow to reclaim/prosecute.

dj619 - I recommend contacting the police.

Email to Katie (I am awaiting a response)
“Katie,

The police are investigating and there is now a crime reference set up. It should be straightforward to solve given that we have your bank account details.

If you happen to have either tickets (small chance) or if you refund me in full today then I will consider no further action.

Up to you.  Let me know.

Cheers,

Alex”

Already have a reply from Katie (she’s very efficient at sending emails!).  So far she has promised me a) the tickets b) scans of the receipts c) the recorded postage tracking number d)an immediate refund.  None have been forthcoming…..but plenty of pointless evasive emails like this reply to my note above.

I just received the following email.  TBH I doubt there are tickets - lets face it, she said she sent them on Monday by recorded delivery but then would not give the ref number or provide a receipt. Has promised refunds all week too. Can the buyer who has actually received a ticket make themselves known?  Have told Katie that her proposal works, but I am continuing with the criminal investigation until a satisfactory result is achieved.

“Alex, I completely understand that your looking for a refund as soon as possible, but I work until 5pm on Saturdays, so I will have to do it after that. I’m trying to do so many things at once, as I sent every single ticket I sold off, and one of the people I sent the tickets too, actually has received there tickets, so I am actually in quite a lot of hope, and I’m still entirely convince that yours are going too turn up. As I promised the refund today, I will sort it out for you, but I do ask, when the tickets arrive,as they will, that you re send the money back. Is this a fair proposition?

Thanks.

Katie Beavon took £1000 from me for Pink Tickets a week last Tuesday.  I have had nothing but ridiculous excuses and have started a PayPal charge back.

She was operating on Gumtree and indeed still is.

There is a VERY specific and often used word that she continually misspells.  I have coaxed her into using that word on no less than 12 adverts on gumtree.  This word isn’t normally spelled incorrectly by people and I don’t want to give it away by writing it here.  I have sourced her names on Gumtree as:

Katie Beavon
Karen Beavon
Karen Humphries
Elizabeth Hargreaves
Carly Long
Jenny Finch
Melanie Round

All of the above have given me the PayPal email address: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) (which PayPal have now suspended).

Three of the above ‘names’ have TODAY given me account details:

10663664
11-05-65

This is a Halifax bank in Northampton.  Halifax PLC, Box 101, W.Yorks, HX3 0TA.

I have spoken to a member of their customer services team who is contacting me back tomorrow.  I am hoping to raise an internal review on her account.

“Katie” - you really tried to screw over the wrong person/people this time.

I tell you what if this was a fraud convention I’ll give Katie a A* for effort.

How can you deny what you’re doing on Gumtree? Your IP Address has been consistent with:

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

And countless others today.

Are you not slightly concerned that someone is trying to get money into your bank account by pretending to sell a multitude of tickets that they can’t possibly have?  How will they get it out of your account I wonder???

Ok, so let’s say for a nano second you are genuine.  Just answer these very simple questions:

1, what are the tracking numbers for the tickets you have posted?  It’s very easy to show this.

2, If you posted them on Monday how can you be confident that they will arrive?  Surely they must be ‘lost in the post now’?

3, How can you sell so many tickets for face value?

You seem to travel a lot between the MEN and O2…

Not met many Killers fans who also would go and watch the Rolling Stones on a sell out tour.

Nice try sweetheart.

I noted the number consistency and located it as an O2 Dongle.

It’s an IP that changes every 15 mins or so…but the username/number always had 4567944 in the central part—which is one a gazillion for it to be a coincidence.

So finally at 0.30 last night I received an email with a screen shot of the bank transaction to me for £150.  I will confirm if this hits my account.  It says within 24 hours excluding Sundays.  I also received a scanned picture of Katie’s driving license.  I’d love to be proved wrong about the tickets, but I have no evidence that they exist and never received a tracking number.

I will keep you all and the police posted on progress.

(And Katie, no I am not ‘love_pink’ and no you cannot have the crime reference number)

Did it come through Alex?

Posted by Love_Pink on 11 Nov 2012      Report abuse or inappropriate comments

I don’t know of any bank that process payments on a 24 hour scale ‘excluding Sundays’.

Presumably its the Halifax account you initially sent to?  ALL of their accounts offer faster payments service (FPS). It doesn’t matter if it was 1.30am on Sunday or 3.30pm on a Friday, the payment would reach you in two hours maximum (usually within 3 minutes).

According to your conversation above she had ‘logged in’ etc at 7.26pm last night.  She sent you the money at 12.30am?  5 hours after ‘logging in’?

One of two things happened here.  Either she ripped someone else off for £150 and that took five hours to complete and then she refunded you.

OR…

She stalled till 12.30am to take you into a ‘Sunday’ time-frame (which doesn’t exist with Halifax Bank PLC).  All stalling tactics to me…

There can only be ‘advice’ really. What people do with their cash is up to them.

PayPal is pretty secure for 45 days. But it’s still useless to send someone money who doesn’t have what you are supposed to be buying.

The only ay to avoid this vile poisonous daftness is to pay face-to-face in person.  But even then there are so many good looking counterfeit tickets that you could pay cash for a dud.

I actually think you’ll get your money…it’ll just take a week or so.

All evidence points to the fact that she is trying to scam someone else for £150 prior to paying you back.

She’s such an honest and lovely person because not only has she sent you the tickets she has also done a bank transfer for a refund.  She is now willing to pay the cash into your account and still believes you’ll receive the tickets.

Best case scenario here for you Alex is that the transfer magically clears, she pays money into your account AND the tickets arrive.

You’ll have the tickets AND be £150 better off.  What a lovely lady she really is.

Sorry, I had to nip out then as there was this loud bang.  A flying pig just smashed straight into my bathroom window.

Worse case scenario?  She’s a lying, scheming, ill-educated fraudster who bit off way more than she can chew this time round.

Bulls*t.

Why would she do that?  It costs £5.95 to send cash insured.

She didn’t send the tickets, a tracking number, a receipt of purchase, a tracking number for ‘cash refunds’, or…a refund (THRICE!) Astounding.

Not forgetting the accurate FAKE bank transfer statement???

It seems she is plagued with technical difficulties regarding online transfers and the Royal Mail provide her with no tracking numbers and continually fail to deliver her postage.

Truly amazing.

Katie is on her way down to the O2 to pick up replacement tickets today. Oh how she makes me chuckle.

I asked for her mobile to call, she refused and asked for mine and said she would call.  She hasn’t.

She said can she text me when she has collected the tickets. I said no, please call. Let’s face it, it’s unlikely that she will text or call, and its probably not even a lady anyway.

On a more serious note (for Katie at least) the police are following up.

Mmm sounding familiar, dealt with a Annie dodman on gum tree regarding Michael Bible tickets, advert said location was London but she claimed she was in monmouthshire in Wales.. She sent pics of tickets and said she buys and sells on gumtree which her profile said she had been a member for 3 years.Arranged to transfer money to her husbands account which is Barclay’s in white chapel road in London.. Said she would post with tracking soon as funds cleared which was week before Xmas.So later in day she emailed me saying funds went into her account but not clear till following.Next day she said funds OK so will post Xmas eve as she was now working 2 x 12 hour shifts even though I was promised they would be sent for Xmas..contacted her Xmas eve to see if they were sent , heard nothing..Looked on gumtree and saw same seats on same day advertised although no block mentioned posted on Xmas eve so emailed her Xmas day questioning this, she replied later that day saying she couldn’t send Xmas eve as recorded delivery didn’t start till after boxing day and not to worry the tickets I paid her for were mine and just needed to send..The email finished with do u have a problem your end ? Sent emails daily since then and not heard anything !!!!
